Hedera

Yay! I finally finished something, even if it is just a pair of socks. But no, these are no ordinary socks, these socks are going to make one special grandma really happy. When I showed my grandma the first sock and told her that I was making them for her, her face lit up and she began to explain to me how lilac was her favorite color. She was so excited that I forced myself to move my arse and graft them so that I could actually give them to her sometime this year.

So behold the great, finished, pair of socks!!!! =)

Pattern: Hedera by Cookie A., who I seriously have a sock-crush on. She designs the most beautiful things.
Yarn: Lorna's Laces from this ebay store in the Lilac colourway. I still have loads of each skein left over.
Time: About a month.
Thoughts: I have always been weary about knitting socks until this previous christmas when I knit a pair for my future father-in-law and he absolutely went cukoo for them. He wore them everywhere and one day the dog attacked the sock and he still wore them even with holes in them (I repaired the holes when I found out). Since I was going on vacation I decided I needed an uber-portable knit project, hence the sock! I chose an easy to memorize pattern, which Hedera is, and found that it actually went really really fast. The pattern is well written and the fit is beautiful. I hope my grandma likes wearing them as must as I liked making them.

Here's me, trying to take a picture of my feet in the 5th ballet position. Didn't work so well but the picture shows the color accurately.
